Life can get overwhelming. And each month we share a short film that adds perspective to those very real moments we all face, reminding you there is hope through Jesus.

Believing even if you can't see

When I was in kindergarten, my parents wondered why I was not paying attention in class. First and second grade I had the same problem. In third grade they finally checked my eyesight and found out that I was legally blind. I didn’t know that trees had tops or billboards had things written on them!

In Hebrews 11:1 it says: "Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we don’t see it."

Even when I could not see clearly, I trusted those around me to lead me and they led me straight to Jesus from a young age. I knew that Jesus loved me and wanted what was best for me.

If things are not clear for you today, have faith that what you are sure of is worth trusting even when we can’t see clearly.

I’m Stacey Stone from Johnny and Stacey in the Afternoon and that is your encouraging verse of the day.

Words of Hope #16 - Codebreakers

For many people, prayer is like a coded message. If you just use the right words, raise your hands the right way, pray enough times or in the right place...then maybe God will answer.

With help from the National Cryptologic Museum, Morning show host Jerry Woods explains why you know your message is getting through loud and clear when you pray.

Words of Hope #15 - Glassblowing

There is an incredible amount of heat that has to be applied to mold and shape a piece of glass. And just when you think the process is over - it has to go back into the heat for several more days to harden and protect it...so it doesn't break.

It's like that with us, too. There's a verse in Romans (Romans 5:3-4) that talks about rejoicing in your sufferings...knowing that it produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. It's not an easy verse to embrace, because like most of us, we don't like pain.

Words of Hope #14 - Turn the Page

Some days, it feels like what's on the next page is too much for us to bear. It could be a change you weren't expecting; a marriage that is falling apart, a job you've lost, or that phone call that changes your entire life.

Johnny and Stacey share these Words of Hope that God is the author of every chapter in your life, so don't be afraid to turn the page.

Words of Hope #13 - Fishing

Fishing is a lot like waiting for God to show up during difficult times. You can do everything right and be prepared, but still you find yourself sitting and waiting.

Chaplain Kumar offers these words of hope to remind you that even while you're waiting, God is always with you. In fact, the silence you may be experiencing could be the hushed sound of God's arrival.

Words of Hope #12 - Bricks

We often measure our worth by what we do, and what we've accomplished. Our culture teaches us our value is based on how much money we make, how big our house is, or how many hours we put in at work.

Morning show co-host Jerry Woods offers encouragement through Matthew 6:26: "Consider the birds. They don't plant or harvest, or store food in barns, for your Heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to Him than they are?"

Words of Hope #11 - Joy

When was the last time you slowed down long enough to allow yourself to enjoy the simple blessings around you? Becky says these are glimpses into what God has in store for eternity.

#10 - Stained Glass

It could be a failed marriage, a difficult financial situation, the loss of a loved one, or any number of countless situations you find yourself in. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to them, and it can leave you feeling exasperated. But what if these trials are just part of a bigger picture you just can't see yet?

Brennan Wimbish, Program Director at WGTS 91.9, shares these words of hope that "all things work together for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

#09 - News

There is plenty of news that can get us down, and even cause us fear. So how are we supposed to handle it all?

Jerry Woods takes a trip to the Newseum to share that we can choose our news, and offers these words of hope from the Bible: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7

#08 - Fear

What do you fear? Sometimes the scariest thing in life is realizing that we can't do it all on our own.

Becky takes you along as she faces down one of her greatest fears, and learns where her trust belongs.
